Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are looing for a mechanical fitter to join our team.

Working on a 2 shift roster of mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday.

We offer a competitive starting salary with shift allowance and the opportunity to earn additional money through overtime, with earning potential of £45k pa. Also progression opportunities available within the maintenance team.

Based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, reporting to the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor, the role will be at our production facility and involve the following:

Diagnosing, fault finding and repair of Medium/Heavy industrial plant and machinery.

Completing preventative maintenance checks and inspections.

Developing and implementing modifications to improved reliability of plant and machinery.

Working as a team with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Working to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays.

Adherence to Health & Safety with absolute priority.

Lifting and handling plant and machinery components using appropriate equipment and techniques.

Qualifications/Experience

Time served maintenance apprenticeship within manufacturing

Ideally with a minimum of 2 years experience working as a fitter/mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Experience of Hydraulic and Pneumatic's.

Welding and Brazing.

Rigging of unbalanced loads.

Risk assessment and safety awareness, guarding of machinery legislation.

High pressure steam maintenance.

MS Office or equivalent.

Ability to read technical drawings.

Minimum of BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering.

The Person

Self-motivated and must appreciate the demands of a 24/7 continuous production process with a keen to get the job finished attitude. Good team working and communication skills.
