Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be essential in maintaining the efficiency of our industrial mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include working with hydraulic systems, pumps, bearing replacements, alignment procedures, rigging, and pipefitting. You will also embody our core values of Safety and Excellence while performing maintenance, repairs, installations, and fabrication tasks.

This role is for a Mechanical Multicraft position.

Key Responsibilities: Adhere to safety standards and actively contribute to a safe work environment. Perform preventative maintenance and follow precision maintenance standards. Independently plan and execute tasks according to established procedures, safety standards, and mill guidelines. Assist other technicians and apprentices with repairs, installations, and training. Participate in the Pixelle Industrial Fire Team to mitigate facility risks. Provide accurate documentation, time confirmations, and feedback upon job completion. Conduct measurements, layouts, fabrication, and repairs as required. Refer complex issues to senior technicians or supervisors when necessary.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 4 years of equivalent experience and training. Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective communication skills for writing reports and speaking to groups. Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, and ratios. Analytical and problem-solving skills to define issues, collect data, and draw conclusions.
Preferred Skills: Experience working with high-pressure steam (up to 900 lbs.) and hazardous chemical lines. Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, and other mechanical operations. Familiarity with rigging and pipefitting.
