Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs repair and maintenance work on electronic control equipment and apparatus as associated with automated machine tools, such as NC/CNC and all other state of the art related type of equipment, servo-mechanism, etc., of complex and involved design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro-mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.
Essential Functions:
Perform all factory maintenance and service work including carpenter, electrician, millwright, plumbing, tool welding, and painting.Perform repair and maintenance work on various machines, tools, and equipment of complex design requiring broad technical knowledge of electro- mechanical principles and equipment design plus specialized skills and techniques.Use special testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, voltmeter, and electronic equipment to test circuitry and components.Work from complicated schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications involving complex circuitry together with machine design drawings. Attend schools conducted by equipment manufactures to learn specific equipment repair procedures when required. Perform maintenance helper tasks as necessary without the use of temporary transfers. Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes. Perform appropriate safety checks in the cell. Complete all required paperwork/documentation. Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor. Utilize computer to access various databases.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School DiplomaExperience: Previous Maintenance and service work experience including carpenter, electrician, millwright, plumbing, tool welding, and painting;Must have successfully completed Maintenance Trainee occupation (internal applicants only).Skills/Abilities: Have knowledge of 480/240 Volt/3 phase systems, along with at least a basic understanding of PLC’s, NEC codes, conduit bending, motor and controls, hydraulic and pneumatics, troubleshooting methods and lock out tag out rules.Must have basic reading and writing skillsRequires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing;Must be able to read and interpret schematic designs, blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions.Must have successfully completed Maintenance Trainee occupation (internal applicants only). Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: Must be a certified lift truck operator.Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. Hourly range: $34.56 to $35.03. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
