Our client is seeking a Mechanical Piping Designer to work within their facility located in Ingleside, TX, for a 1- year assignment.
Responsibilities Design and layout piping systems using AutoCAD 3D and other design software. Create cable layouts and designs for various projects. Utilize Smart Plant PID proficiency to enhance design processes. Develop 2D and 3D CAD designs using Cadworx software. Apply general piping design knowledge to support equipment and piping layouts. Scrub PID redlines using AutoCAD. Create pipe routing and preliminary isometrics for small capital projects. Conduct field observations and make recommendations for tie-in points. Collaborate with various departments to coordinate project designs. Ensure compliance with industry piping design standards and Oxy standards, as required. Maintain organization of piping line and specialty item lists. Manage line number and instrument/equipment tag number master database. Maintain Master PID/Drawing Database. Proactively drive down backlog of MOC action items as assigned. Maintain attention to detail and a QA/QC mindset. Work independently to complete tasks efficiently.
Required Skills: 2D and 3D CAD (CadWorx) General piping design knowledge: Support equipment/piping layouts Scrubbing of PID redlines (AutoCad) Pipe routing / preliminary isometrics to support small capital projects Conduct field observations and make recommendations regarding tie-in points Develop small piping packages Knowledge and organization of piping line and specialty item lists Maintain line number and instrument/equipment tag number master database Issuing new tags as required upon request for new projects Smart Plant PID proficiency – This is a plus not a requirement. Education/Experience: 5+ years of experience.
