We're uniquely positioned to make a significant difference in the packaging industry.Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in Terre Haute, IN to assist with mechanical and electrical components, equipment, and manufacturing technology. This role involves leading safety initiatives, complying with all safety protocols, participating in safety programs, and promoting employee involvement in safety activities. You'll meet customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns, developing and evaluating solutions, and defining project scope. Managing project documentation is key, as is overseeing purchasing by reviewing potential vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and expediting delivery. You'll handle project logistics, including coordinating costs, scheduling, and communications, and procure materials by determining what's required, reviewing vendors, and expediting delivery. Ensuring equipment safety and compliance, assisting with installations and startups, providing engineering support for complex plant issues, and engaging in and leading Continuous Improvement projects are all part of the job.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Work Environment

Clean, well-lit facility but it is not climate controlled. 1st shift: most engineers work 7 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday but the team will be flexible. Occasional weekend work expected dependent upon project demand.
