Mechanical Quality Inspector II

GENERAL DESCRIPTION\n

Candidate will perform in-process, receiving, and final inspection of aerospace hardware utilizing basic inspection equipment and customer provided drawings and\/or specifications. \n

Duties\n\nRead and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards to determine product status.\nUse standard measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. \nOperate a coordinate measuring machining (CMM).\nSelect the correct tool needed to do the job, regularly make decisions on tooling requirement for specific tasks. \nAssist and train Mechanical Inspector I.\nComplete non-conformance reports as required.\nComplete AS9102 FAI reports.\nHas good communication skills and communicates effectively with coworkers.\nOther Duties as assigned.\n\n

Education\/Experience Requirements\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. Trade school is desirable.\n4 to 7 years mechanical inspection, mechanical assembly, and\/or metal machining experience required.\nThe candidate will have good dexterity and possess the ability to inspect complex mechanical assemblies. \nRead blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine proper assembly sequences and has the ability to identify and suggest process improvements. \nSelf-starter, little or no immediate supervision required.\nRegularly makes suggestions that improve production velocity and quality.\nHas the ability to select the right tool for the job.\nGood working knowledge of Zeiss Calypso or Polyworks software a plus.\nMust be able to read complex drawings and interpret per ANSI\/ASME Y 14.5\nWeld inspection background is a plus.\nPossess basic computer skills using Microsoft Office.\nCostpoint experience is a plus\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.\n\n
