Turner Specialty Services, LLC is seeking experienced Mechanical Rope Access Technicians Level I, II, and III for full-time work in the New Orleans, LA area. The Rope Access Technician is responsible for carrying out standard rope access operations to perform maintenance, repairs, and other industrial work tasks on industrial petrol\/chemical equipment while on ropes. The Technician must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding, have good communication skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of new information. Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports, and administrative tasks.\n

Essential Qualifications:\n\nMust have valid drivers license\nMust have TWIC card\nMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent\nRope Access Certification (Sprat or Irata) required\nNCCER Craft Certification a plus\nAbility to pass a background check and drug test\nMust be considered local to the job. Per diem is not included.\nDocumentation needed: certifications and resume\n\n

Functional Requirements:\n\nUses Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and other industrial work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areas\nMaintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to the IRAT\/SPRAT standards and practices\nEnsures team members utilize proper personal protective equipment\nDisplays a healthy respect for heights and follows all OSHA, site specific and company's safety procedures\nParticipates in required training and maintains a working understanding of rope access safe working practices\nInspects and verifies rope access systems and components before use\nRecognizes worksite hazards and notifies the Rope Access Supervisor of any unsafe conditions\nMaintains proficiency at rescue techniques and assist in rescues as directed and in accordance with certification level\nPerforms physical activities that require considerably use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and walking\n\n

Physical Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movement of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30-50 lbs. from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and\/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards\n
