Mechanical Site Supervisor – Role & Accountabilities Role Summary

The Mechanical Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, assembly, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment on-site. They ensure work is completed safely, to quality standards, and within project timelines while managing subcontractors and site personnel.

Key Accountabilities

✅ Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with HSE regulations and company safety policies.Conduct site safety briefings and toolbox talks.Enforce use of PPE and safe working practices.Report and investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents.

✅ Project Execution & Supervision

Oversee mechanical installation activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.Supervise subcontractors and mechanical teams, ensuring high-quality workmanship.Monitor progress against project plans and report any deviations.Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and standards.

✅ Coordination & Communication

Liaise with site management, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, issues, and risks.Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and the client as required.

✅ Technical & Problem-Solving Support

Identify and resolve technical issues on-site to prevent delays.Interpret mechanical drawings and ensure accurate installation.Support commissioning and testing activities, ensuring systems function correctly.

✅ Materials & Resource Management

Ensure availability of required tools, materials, and equipment.Monitor material usage and coordinate with procurement teams.Maintain accurate records of work completed and any issues encountered.

✅ Documentation & Reporting

Maintain site records, including daily reports, permits, and quality checklists.Ensure completion of mechanical works as per approved method statements and risk assessments.Assist in the handover process, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted.
