Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical System Design Engineer to design industrial laundry equipment with a focus on material handling systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical support to various departments. This role involves lab testing, field trials, and occasional travel.

ResponsibilitiesDesign industrial laundry equipment focusing on material handling equipmentUnderstand and interpret customer requirements and translate them into project and product specificationsCollaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and controls engineers for a concurrent design approachAct as a liaison to Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Product Support departments by providing technical supportParticipate in lab testing and field trialsTravel up to 5% of the timeEssential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD, CAD, and 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks preferred)Experience in designing industrial systems (mechanical)Pneumatic and hydraulic system design experienceGood understanding of materials and manufacturing processesBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 2-4 years of prior experience in the design of industrial equipment2+ years of experience with a degree (design/application engineering)Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldExperience with lean manufacturing and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)CFD and FEA analysis experienceExperience with material conveying and bulk material handlingElectro-mechanical design experienceProficiency in ERP and PLM/PDM software, especially Autodesk Vault5-10 years of experienceWork Environment

You will work within an office environment as part of a team of about 45 engineers, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Most of your time will be spent in the office, with approximately 15% travel for site survey visits.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
