Mechanical Systems Operator (MSO) - Full Scope Poly Required

The Mechanical Systems Operator (ESO) is responsible for standing a shift in the Facility Control Office and is responsible for the Electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Coordination of all utility outages with other maintenance customers and mission support elements.

Assure that timely notification of facilities emergencies are made to all personnel that are impacted.

Prepare and review daily operations logs and alarm summaries to ensure that follow-up actions are taken.

Provide shift coverage to maintain the recommended staffing levels needed to operate the campus systems and provide emergency response to facilities emergencies.

Supervise Campus Utility outages when needed and assist with shutdown sequences and outage coordination.

Evaluate day to day operations on the Chilled Water distribution system, Air handling systems, Compressed air systems and coordinate plant changes with Building Maintenance & operations personnel.

Provide accurate monitoring and control of the Agencies HVAC and Chilled Water Distribution systems through the Agencies EMCS Systems.

Provide accurate monitoring and control of the Agencies Electrical Distribution systems through the Agencies SCADA System.

Provide accurate monitoring and control of the Agencies Fire Alarm systems through the Building Fire alarm system.

Initiate daily plant status reports to reflect the health and welfare of all Facilities systems.

Maintain Operators logs to reflect any plant reconfigurations, responses to problem areas by tour persons, as well as any impact to Chilled Water distribution, Electrical distribution and Fire alarm operations.

Conduct routine Mechanical and Electrical Systems Tours to inspect and monitor maintenance activities to assure availability of systems are not interrupted.

Respond and or dispatch facilities personnel to emergencies and routine service calls as needed.

Take necessary actions to control or repair the problems and provide a follow up detail for Watch logs.

Report major incidents (as defined by the COR) by submitting AAR within appropriate time frame (as defined by the COR).

Qualifications

The Mechanical Systems Operator shall have at least ten years performing work on mechanical HVAC systems, HVAC Controls or chilled water distribution systems.

Two years of experience in monitoring and controlling major facilities mechanical systems including Chillers, air handlers, pumps, motors, and SCADA.
