**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Mechanical inspectors are expected to inspect using visual observation and mechanicaltesting equipment to ensure that new mechanical installations and alterations of mechanical systems in public and private buildings are in compliance with established codes, laws, and regulations.
+ Candidate must read and analyze blueprints, manuals, verify measurements of mechanical plans, and test the ascribed capabilities..
+ Checks, visually and mechanically, the use of approved materials, devices, fixtures andequipment.
+ Reviews proposed construction plans and documents to determine compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and codes Gathers evidence on reported and observedcode violations and prepares necessary reports. Performs related work as assigned.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Knowledge of the standard practices, processes, tools, equipment and materials relatedto heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and fire suppression.
+ Ability to reliably commute in New York City metro area.
+ Provide timely detailed reports on all inspection activities.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States
**Technical Requirements:**
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering
+ ICC Certification as Commercial Mechanical Inspector (or ability to obtain one within 6months).
**Other Miscellaneous Qualities:**
+ Work independently with limited supervision.
+ Good written & verbal communication skills
**Compensation:**
$21 - $35 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
