The Mechanical Technical Specialist, Permian Basin Midstream supports Gas Plants, Pipelines, Terminals, and other facilities by providing technical support to front line employees including training, advanced troubleshooting, and some project development and commissioning. The Specialist serves as the team’s subject matter expert on engines, compressors, pumps, and motors.
The role may be required to assist with emergency response and recovery activities and to assist with front line activities when an area is shorthanded. Responsibilities are subject to change as business and other conditions require.

Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions High School Diploma or GED Valid driver’s license 5 or more years of mechanical experience Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Travel up to 35% of the time within the assigned area Work inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity Work around noise level which may be loud at times Regularly stoop, squat, kneel and crouch for durations up to 3 minutes Periodically pull/push doors open to move around the gas plant Occasionally exert pulling force up to 130 pounds Frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds Occasionally climb A-frame ladders Work extended workdays and/or work weeks Carry a cell phone and available to respond off hours in emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and expertise working with the following: Engines (including Waukesha, Cat 3500/3600, and/or White Superior) Compressors (including Ariel, Superior, Joy, and/or Radial) Pumps Motors Ability to utilize and analyze XMAP information and data Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Power Point Experience developing and managing technical training programs and conducting group training sessions 10 or more years of experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment Associate's degree in Technical Field
Midstream
Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
