MPL Mechanical Technician – Evanston, Wyoming
Marathon Pipe Line LLC operates more than 6000 miles of underground pipeline in over 20 states. This position is based at Marathon Pipe Line’s Evanston, Wyoming office and reports to the SLC Core Area Manager. A Mechanical Technician works in and around crude oil pipeline facilities executing Maintenance and Reliability activities. The successful candidate will perform various duties including: repairing and maintaining API 6D valves, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, tank equipment and meters. The successful candidate should have the ability to trouble shoot problems and work independently while working in a team environment. Travel, call-outs and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance activities including but not limited to the following tasks:
Vibrating monitoring and analysisInspect, install, and maintain major / minor relief valvesComplex pump alignmentLubricant changesInstall / repair stainless steel tubingDOT mainline inspectionsFlange bolting and assemblyValve actuator maintenanceMaintaining bi-directional proversCoordinate and communicate maintenance activities
Responding to breakdown and field callouts as part of rotational on-call support
Generate computerized work requests for maintenance tasks
Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.Associate’s degree in a related technical field is preferred.Self-motivated and organized approach to routine work.Proficiency in basic computer skills.Previous pipeline experience is highly preferred.Must have a valid Driver’s License and subject to a Driving History Background Check.
