As the Mechanical Technician you will be working within the Maintenance Team and reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader. The purpose of this role is to perform mechanical engineering maintenance tasks necessary to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all primary and auxiliary production equipment and utility support systems supporting operations at Brimsdown. Most of your time will be spent on conducting reactive and preventive maintenance tasks but will also include minor project work and assisting in additional maintenance duties where priorities require.

Your responsibilities:Providing a skilled execution of Planned, Reactive & Corrective Mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the ongoing reliability of mechanical equipment across the plantEffective problem solving and mechanical fault diagnosis skills, adhering to identified work priorities to ensure that customers and stakeholders are supported in their daily operational needsIdentifying and carrying out occasional plant modification work to help enhance plant safety and improve efficiencyConducting Inspections, testing, adjustments and monitoring tasks as required to maintain efficient plant and build-in equipment reliability.Updating the CMMS with work progressIdentifying and ordering spares as required for work tasks to maintain critical stock levels.

Requirements for the role:

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.

Completed a recognized Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship /relevant vocational training (typical minimum 1 year)Demonstrates basic mechanical and electrical aptitudeExperience of large scale complex manufacturing facilities/plantsExperience of structured problem-solving techniquesAbility to read and comprehend basic mechanical drawingsPreferably qualified HNC, C&G, B-TECH in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
