Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.
Reporting to the Electrical and Mechanical Supervisor you will ideally have industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in water or wastewater and understand mechanical issues relating to submersible and surface pumps and treatment devices such as electrical generators, compressors, etc. However, if you have relevant transferable skills & and an interest in the mechanical workings of water pumps, plants, reservoirs and reticulation networks please do not hesitate to apply.
The contract we look after is responsible for the maintenance of the water and wastewater networks and associated pump stations, which need mechanical and electrical maintenance, so no two days are the same.

The successful candidate with be familiar with preventative maintenance regimes, be computer literate (ability to complete time and job sheets) and the capability to work with telemetry technology (such as meters, sensors etc) and have an outstanding customer service attitude when working with customers, the client and sub-contractors.
Full NZ Driver Licence - Class 1 and Class 2 will be an advantage. Ideally at least 2-year experience working with mechanical systems, or interest and good general knowledge about mechanics, and passionate about learning more Certification in confined spaces & working at heights preferred Great work ethic & attitude, we’ll show you the ropes, if you are reliable and willing to learnKo wai matou | Our Organisation
