JOB TITLE: Mechanical Technician I

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Mechanical Technician will assist in undertaking the day-to-day maintenance of all mechanical equipment and auxiliaries within engine rooms and other assigned areas. This is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and company values. Carries out maintenance activities in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (AMOS), Ensure all maintenance and maintenance related activities are carried out to the highest standards. Ensure all tests and inspection routines required by the Planned Maintenance System are completed. Maintains and coordinates all maintenance records. Executes periodic maintenance routine for plant and equipment, optimizing control of spares. Ensure that instructions given by the Maintenance Supervisor are executed and that they are kept informed of progress in all work under their supervision, including the status of spare parts, stores and consumables, and repairs. Ensures proper handovers during shift change Ensures that the Permit to Work (PTW) system is adhered to and that all isolations to plant and machinery are in compliance with the Company policies and procedures. Assists other maintenance personnel, service contractors, and personnel involved in operations under the control of the Maintenance Department by providing the relevant information Executes all works and ensure they are carried out in a safe and responsible manner. Complies with requirements and provisions of the Company management systems. Ensures that maintenance contractors are managed safely and effectively. Carries out any additional tasks allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor Ensures the safe and efficient functioning of emergency plant, equipment and machinery. Hold in trust the maintenance and records of safety critical elements.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

BSc./ B. Tech in Mechanical engineering and or equivalent qualification Membership of a professional Body is an added advantage Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative Good Interpersonal skills Demonstrate responsibility, ownership and excellence in all aspects of their work. Significant experience working offshore Previous experience with responsibility for the maintenance of hydrocarbon processes and marine plant and equipment Previous FPSO experience Recognized technical or academic qualification
