JOB SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and operating special systems. The Mechanical Technician will be called upon to lead and train operations assembly team in the proper use of any of these systems during build process and final inspections.  The Mechanical Technician must develop effective communications and must have a positive working relationship with all team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Safety conscious awareness of risks involved in working on high voltage, high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Trouble shoot (diagnose and repair) products.Perform first time installation of detail parts onto vehicle.Reinstall all parts removed.Clean all parts prior to and after installation.Conduct functional testing of all systems assembled.Strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to work independently to follow a build schedule.Fabricate and rework parts safely for component assembly.Diagnose and repair low voltage controls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

High school diploma or GED3 or more years of mechanical experience in automotive manufacturing setting.Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Ten or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applicationsPrevious experience with basic hand toolsGood understanding of JD Edwards SystemElectrical system programming knowledgePrevious experience with Microsoft Office programsGeneral fabrication equipment experienceWorking with engineering drawings
