We're seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Test Engineer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of autonomous vehicles.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test autonomous drive systems, including hardware and software components.Work closely with our mechanical engineering team to create and execute test plans, using expertise in mechanical engineering technology and spatial awareness.Perform hardware rework, prototype fabrication, and component testing according to work instructions and procedures.Troubleshoot and debug test systems and automation solutions from a hardware and software perspective.Analyze test results, write test reports, and collaborate with the team to implement improvements.Utilize Solidworks (or similar software) to design and develop new test equipment and components.Manage drive units and sensors, including new unit development and existing unit support.Design and execute tests for various scenarios, including low-light conditions and sensor testing.Essential SkillsMechanical engineering technologyTest plan creation and executionSolidworks or similar softwareTroubleshootingMechanical testingMaterial handlingAdditional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanics, Product Design, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline; higher degrees preferred.Basic knowledge of consumer electronic devices, electro-mechanical systems, fabrication techniques, shop tools, lab equipment, environmental testing, and component reliability.Familiarity with lab tools, equipment, and processes, including drive units, sensors, and test equipment.Understanding of engineering documentation, including solid models, detailed drawings, manufacturing visual aids, schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures, and SOPs.Experience with mechanical engineering technology, spatial awareness, and Solidworks (or similar software) is highly desirable.Work Environment
You will work with state-of-the-art technology in a collaborative team environment. This role involves the use of various lab tools, equipment, and processes, including drive units and sensors. You will be expected to handle material, perform fabrication techniques, and ensure component reliability through environmental testing. The work setting is dynamic and innovative, focused on the development and testing of autonomous drive systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
