What You’ll Do:
Guiding workflow through the mechanical lab, which includes delegating team members and scheduling test equipment Lead weekly workload meetings with the mechanical group and participate in weekly leadership meetings Regularly communicate with client contacts to gather details needed to complete testing and discuss results criteria Communicate with the client(s) for clarification ensuring accurate results and customer-satisfaction Perform structural, functional, and metrology evaluations using Instron/MTS and other test equipment Operate Tensile/Compression testing equipment, automation & electronics testing equipment Use oscilloscopes, function generators, digital multi-meters, Statistical software (e.g.: Minitab), & other test equipment for electrical measurements Collaborate with other team members to summarize data in a report format relaying test details to appropriate personnel in a timely and accurate manner Other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot and communicate findings to Engineers and team members Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent understanding of engineering concepts (mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, etc.) Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Must possess strong ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines in an ever-changing environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer-service focused Detail-oriented and great organizational skills a must
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in mechanical engineering/related discipline or equivalent work experience 2+ years’ experience with Tensile/Compression/Strength testing (Instron/MTS) required 2+ years’ experience leading others
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
