Job Description

Responsibilitie

Follow up on Health and Safety regulations and assess employees' needs for personal protective equipment.Train and coach the team in daily tasks.Replace team members as needed.Take charge of the integration of new employees.Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises.Participate in the annual evaluations, probation, and disciplinary measures for the team.Communicate performance indicators to the team.Complete production reports at the end of each shift.Ensure that employees’ hours are properly entered into Maximo and OpenERP.

Qualifications

Crane Maintenance Experience: Significant experience, typically 5 to 10 years, as a crane mechanic, with expertise in the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of cranes.

Knowledge of Safety Standards: A strong understanding of local safety regulations, including those from the CNESST (Quebec’s workplace safety authority) and specific standards for crane maintenance and operation, is essential.

Management and Leadership Skills: Experience in managing a team of mechanics, organizing maintenance tasks, planning repairs, and prioritizing to ensure smooth operations.

Technical Skills and Problem-Solving Ability: Excellent ability to diagnose and repair complex crane breakdowns, as well as the capacity to train and mentor less experienced technicians.

Physical Condition and Ability to Work at Heights: Being in good physical condition to work in demanding environments (heights, confined spaces) and ensuring the safety of the team in the field.
