Role Overview:
The Mechelen DC Power, Controls & Information Systems (PC&IS) technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of critical equipment in a highly automated warehouse environment. This role is pivotal in meeting specifications and maximizing the use of cutting-edge automation technologies. The technician will operate primarily during the day shift at the Mechelen P&G Distribution Centre (DC), which features state-of-the-art systems including automated storage and retrieval systems, automatic conveyors for pallet transfers (including PLCs), automatic scanning, and automated truck loading systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Automatic Dead-Pile Loading and Unloading System (ADP)Contribute to the commissioning of the ADP system, the first of its kind in P&G globally.Ensure the operability of the ADP by programming all necessary stacking patterns into the PLCMaintain equipment reliability through regular assessments and troubleshootingOperations Technology (OT) Continuous ImprovementDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing equipment KPIs, including ADP performance, conveyor scanner efficiency, pallet throughput on conveyors, and automated truck loading systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutionsBridge Between OT and IT TeamsAct as a liaison between the Operations Technology team and the IT team managing systems, software, and applications critical to warehouse operationsFacilitate communication and collaboration to ensure seamless integration of technology solutionsOpportunities: This role provides a unique opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment at the Mechelen P&G Distribution Center. Job Qualifications
Core SkillsBachelor degree in electromechanics / electronics0-5 years experience – supply chain environment is a plusProficiency in PLC programming and troubleshootingStrong understanding of automation technologies, control systems and maintenanceEffective written/verbal communication in both English and DutchAdditional CapabilitiesPassion for continuous improvement and a proactive approach to innovationProblem-solving skills and attention to detailWillingness to learn and master new technologies relevant to the industryAbility to work collaboratively within a multifunctional team environmentJob Schedule
