Med Lab Scientist - Foothills
Med Tech - MLT - MT or MLS Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $30.09 - $45.13 an hour - Full Time, Days. 40 hours a week. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts Boulder Community Health is seeking a Med tech that will be able to perform routine and special diagnostic procedures. The level of analyses performed may range from point of care testing to complex testing, involving all major areas of the clinical laboratory. Benefits: •Health insurance, including a FREE employee only option •Dental and Vision insurance •BCH paid Life Insurance; Spouse and Dependent Life Insurance plans •Short-term and Long-term disability coverage •Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts •Retirement plan with BCH matching contributions, and discretionary lump sum contribution •Paid Time Off •Education assistance program •Voluntary Wellness programs, to include biometrics, wellness team challenges, and much more •Staff Support Initiatives such as Sound Baths, Meditation, Massages, and Reiki •Free one-on-one retirement planning sessions •Employee Assistance Program offering 8 free, confidential counseling sessions for you and your family Qualifications: •Associates degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology; or •Associates degree or higher, including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry); or •Have education equivalent to at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours), including 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of medical laboratory technology courses; or •Have education equivalent to at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours), including 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of science courses that include 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) of chemistry, 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) of biology, and 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; or •Completion of a clinical laboratory training program. •MT/MLS/MLT certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT); OR •Sectional certification depending on lab section (e.g. M(ASCP) for Microbiology, H(ASCP) for Hematology, etc.); OR •Specialty certification depending on lab section (e.g. SC(ASCP) for Specialist in Chemistry, SBB(ASCP) for Specialist in Blood Bank, etc.); OR •Certification registry eligible and certified within one year of becoming eligible (must present confirmation page of scheduled test date at time of hire). Responsibilities: •Run appropriate laboratory technical equipment. •Use laboratory information system. •Instruct new employees and orient through the department in which they are working. •Use hospital information system. •Wash glassware. •May be designated lab supervisor on weekends or holidays. •Accurately charges lab procedures.
