Your role as Media Assembly & Playout Technician is to support the national network of broadcast stations in delivering a cloud-distribution of the local linear stream. You will ensure that station services are maintained with appropriate service levels and monitor all technical broadcast activities related to Cloud Assembly and Playout. This program stream will be built on our next-generation media ecosystem operating in the cloud and with data-driven systems and monitoring services that provide high levels of visibility to the larger organization.
The Media Assembly & Playout Technician will be part of Sinclair’s Engineering and Operations team and will work closely with other technology teams to analyze and troubleshoot issues related to Amagi content management, playlist scheduling, air-chain.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational media services to a national broadcast group Working with third party vendors to track and resolve technical issues with in the playout system Demonstrating capability of routing and recording centralized satellite feeds and syndicated programming to acceptable technical standards Solve/troubleshoot problems in a crisis, i.e., perform disaster recovery procedures Working closely with Cloud Site Reliability Engineers to ensure delivery of all media operations. Maintaining and leveraging appropriate data collection and monitoring systems to ensure visibility and communication on the status of media operations In case of emergency, being able to operate the Station master control and playout. Working with external consulting teams to assist in operational efficiency efforts Approaching operations and resourcing using an agile and lean mindset Enthusiastically engaging in understanding and learning new technologies and applying them creativelyQualifications:
Must-have:
2+ years of prior master control experience Experience in troubleshooting operational issues (Playout, Media, Caption, etc.) 2+ years managing complex media and technology operating environments Demonstrated experience analyzing complex operational problems and providing solutions Experience with an IP and/or Cloud broadcast media systems (A plus) Experience with digital workflows and digital video technologies (A plus) Experience in training and development standard operations procedures for technical operations (A plus) Experience with Encoder and IRDs Hardware (A plus) Experience in Local Station Operations (A plus) Experience in incident management and NOC Operations (A plus) Excellent communication and relationship building skills with various technology and operations teams
You must be local to Hunt Valley, MD to be considered for this role as this position is located on-site.

The hourly compensation range for this role is $22.04 to $24.04. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
