Media Content Technician - Spectrum Reach

JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, obtain and transcode all content needed for commercial insertion.  Ensure content meets technical, legal, and quality guidelines.  Maintain content database to accurately reflect available content.  Troubleshoot and resolve all content and front-end distribution related issues.

The shift for this position is Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 11pm. Please only apply if this shift is acceptable.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experienceUpdate in-house commercial database; organize and maintain content librariesMaintain quality of in-house and out-of-house digital spots for optimum on-air lookTranscode all source content needed to clear the following day schedules of conflictsTroubleshoot simple video format/codec issues and transcode source content into usable/requested codecs as neededInvestigate and resolve issues related to incorrect content on the air as they are reported by both internal and external sourcesEdit videos as needed (slate removal, joining, time compression, etc.) and render/export in the appropriate formatCommunicate workflow details in clear and concise written communications that are easily understandable by those who may not understand the workflowEnsure all content is compliant with technical/legal/network requirements (CALM Act, free of nudity, indecent language, copyright issues, etc.)Fulfill all third party spot delivery requirements (satellite, other cable providers, broadcasters)Quickly adapt to changes in complex workflowsMaintain system to control and store digital content and materialsDownload and log content from various client locations in a timely mannerAssist with the implementation of new processes and workflowsPerform other duties and special projects as requested by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure deadlinesMust be extremely organized and able to prioritize effectivelyFamiliarity with various video/audio formats and codecsFamiliarity with non-linear video editing techniques and software (Adobe Premiere)Familiarity with FTP workflows and proceduresFamiliarity with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to multitask in a faced paced environmentAbility to work well in a team environment inside and outside of departmentScripting experience is a plus


Education
Associate’s degree in media communications, computer technologies, or other related fields or equivalent work experience
