The Media Creativity team in Media Solutions is looking for a strategic, creative and enthusiastic Specialist responsible for providing strategy and brand activation expertise in order to develop and execute marketing strategies opportunities for current and prospective partners.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor out of the Montreal office, the successful candidate will lead in the ideation, planning, and development of new program concepts and partnership opportunities for clients based out of Montreal & the province of Quebec, as well as collaborating on the execution and activation of partner activities on Radio-Canada, originating from the Toronto office.
In collaboration with the Project Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading the management and execution of partner sponsorships and activations. The selected candidate will ensure to collaborate with different internal stakeholders as well as with clients/agencies to deliver integrated partnerships, while establishing project parameters and developing follow-up methods to be used in post-analysis, relating back to partnership objectives. The selected candidate will perform multiple tasks including strategic analysis, opportunity development, inter-departmental communication, client outreach, client communication, and client service.
More specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for:
Business Development: identify, research, and develop new business opportunities to expand the regional client base and increase revenue in collaboration with the National Sales team.
Partnership Development: work in partnership with the CBC Sports Partnerships team and the Radio-Canada Sports team to develop customized marketing solutions, including branded content strategies, to support revenue generation and achieve client objectives.
Creative Strategy and Presentations: design tailor-made creative strategies and deliver presentations to advertisers and agencies.
Sales Initiatives: in collaboration with the Sales Team Directors, lead all sales initiatives: proposals from agencies, direct client contacts, and acquisition of new business initiatives, ensuring the achievement of revenue targets for both French and English platforms.
Strategic Account Management: provide in-depth strategic management of advertiser categories to identify new business opportunities and generate new revenue.
Partnership Collaboration: collaborate with the CBC Sports Partnerships team in the development, creation, planning, and execution of innovative partnerships with current or new clients for the Olympic Games and other Radio-Canada sports programming initiatives.
Relationship and Project Management: manage relationships and expectations, both internally and externally, ensuring project elements are aligned and executed with excellence, on time, and within budget.
Research and Insights: interpret research and strategically incorporate it into presentations, emphasizing key findings that justify the adoption of a particular marketing solution and how it aligns with partner objectives.
Internal and External Collaboration: liaise with internal stakeholders (including Communications, Legal Services, Research, and Programming), as well as partners, to propose integrated multi-platform ideas.
Sales Support and Materials: collaborate with the internal team to create sales support materials related to activations, and specific sales tools (strategies, mock-ups, highlight reels, award submissions, etc.).
Post-Activation Analysis: conduct thorough post-activation research to determine project success; establish benchmarks for future execution of research with the same (or similar) scope.
Compliance: ensure compliance with the Advertising Code.
Time Management and Prioritization: regularly manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Teamwork and Collaboration: ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Travel: travel may be required for the execution of partner-related activations.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Three (3) years’ experience in Marketing, media agency or Brand Activation and Promotions
Understanding and knowledge of brand strategy, consumer promotions, digital platforms, and partnerships
Experience in building and executing projects within the broadcast, digital and social media landscape
Demonstrated digital and social media project development, project management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to articulately and enthusiastically deliver strategic presentations
Self-starter that is keen to learn and develop their skills
Innovative problem-solving skills and ability to create new ideas in order to compete in a fast-paced, competitive environment
Advanced oral, writing and reading proficiency in French as well as in English
Strong communication (both written and verbal) in addition to good listening and interpretative skills
Strong negotiation skills required when dealing with internal departments
Ability to handle multiple varied priorities on a regular basis with many critical deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as in teams
Initiative and demonstrates sound judgment in decision making
Passion and interest in Sports
Some overtime may be required
