Role Purpose
The Medical Affairs Trainee will provide comprehensive support to medical activities within Takeda’s Therapeutic Areas. This role primarily focuses on delivering scientific, administrative, and technical assistance to the Therapeutic Area Manager (TAM), Medical Excellence team, and the broader Medical Affairs group, particularly in areas related to Medical Education and support for HCP sponsorships to attend third-party scientific meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Education Support:
Assist the TAM and Medical Affairs team in planning, organizing, and executing Medical Education activities aligned with the company’s strategy.Support HCP sponsorships by managing the administrative processes, including contracts, compliance checks, and obtaining internal and external approvals for participation in third-party meetings.Administrative and Operational Support:
Facilitate contract management and administrative tasks to secure the necessary internal and external authorizations for local studies (in collaboration with the Local Clinical Operations Specialist) and medical initiatives (in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Specialist).Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities and approvals.Scientific Content Development:
Collaborate on the development of scientific materials and presentations for field-based roles (e.g., Medical Science Liaisons - MSLs).Stay updated on clinical knowledge, published data, and ongoing clinical trials related to the company’s products, and occasionally attend scientific meetings or conferences.Compliance and Regulatory Alignment:
Ensure all medical activities comply with local regulations and Takeda’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), working closely with the Medical Affairs Specialist.Assist the TAM in reviewing promotional materials to ensure compliance with Takeda SOPs and Spanish legislation.Training and Internal Collaboration:
Support the creation of disease and product training materials for use by the TAM and MSLs.Collaborate with TAMs and MSLs to track and achieve Individual Action Plans with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).Cross-functional Coordination:
Align with Takeda project teams (e.g., brand teams, central office functions, and corporate teams) to ensure field-based medical activities are consistent with central strategies and Global Action Plans communicated by the Scientific Manager.Contribute to the collection and processing of KOL insights to support in-house analytics and strategic decision-making.Education:
University Degree in Medical or Health Sciences
Fluent written and spoken English (mandatory)
Master degree related with Medical affairs or similar (Desirable)
Interest in pursuing a career in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience:
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry is valued
