Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of designated provider.
Interviews patients, obtains and records patient information into patients' electronic medical record, and measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
May be required to obtain EKG tracings when ordered by attending providers
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
Completes competencies as outlined by assigned department
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
PRN (As Needed) -Day Shift
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent education/experience required
Current CMA certification by AAMA, NHA or NCCT required
BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
Working Conditions:
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs
