POSITION SUMMARY:
The Physician Office Medical Assistant reports to the Manager, Corp Care and is responsible for direct patient care and medical screening to include history taking and various procedures (phlebotomy, audiograms, breath alcohol, pulmonary function etc.). Also responsible for assisting the physician in a variety of clinical and clerical duties as needed
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year medical office experience is preferred. One (1) to three (3) months of on the job training will be provided.
COMPETENCIES:
Must have excellent customer service interpersonal skills and be knowledgeable of windows based software programs such as WORD and OUTLOOK is preferred. Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job-Specific Competency Takes and documents vital signs, records vision screenings and notes other required procedures according to policy. Completes initial patient assessment for all injuries according to standards as evidenced by chart review. Completes discharge process by instructing patient in work restrictions, medication directions and side effects, and scheduling follow up appointments. Completes chain of custody form and drug screen collections according to protocol with no more than 1 error per month. Collects phlebotomy specimens as requested, demonstrating proficiency in all phlebotomy techniques with no more than one incident of supervisory counseling per review year. Perform ancillary medical testing (pulmonary function, EKG, audiograms, vision screening, respirator fit testing) according to department procedures with no more than 2 errors annually. Completes initial patient assessment and chart intake for all injuries according to departmental standards. Assists with procedures as documented by supervisor and physician feedback
9. Maintains patient rooms in a clean, orderly and well stocked manner.
Works closely with clinical team leader and other staff members to ensure timely patient processing for each clinic visit Researches patient files for MD, patients, Insurance reps, Client company, or others when necessary
