Medical Assistant, McLeod Primary Care Associates

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.

3. Maintains active license and appropriate certifications.

4. Demonstrates proficiency in use of all medical equipment in the office.

5. Adheres to procedural checklists for administering all immunizations.

6. Ensure that all examination rooms are clean and fully stocked with supplies, including replacing any expired supplies.

7.Help by maintaining supply inventory, OSHA Procedures and Quality Checks.

8. Call patients from the waiting area using appropriate title and last name to a clean, well-stocked examination room.

9. Obtain and accurately document vital signs and confirm chief complaint.

10. Triage and perform in-house diagnostic/lab testing according to the offices Medical Protocols/Standing Orders.

11. Manages patient workflow in the clinical area.

12. Provides support and assistance as needed to patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff.

13. Participates proactively in problem solving and process improvement activities through collaboration with clinical

teams using Evidence Based Practices.

14. Demonstrates continued professional growth through goal setting and participation in educational offerings.

15. Performs other duties as assigned within department or other departments as workload requires

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications /Training:

0 to 1 year of related work experience. Experience with EPIC/ EMR helpful.

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

Valid, active certification, verified by NHA, AMT, or AAMA.

Minimum of a High School Diploma/Equivalent from an accredited school
