Medical Assistant, Pediatric Cardio
Responsible for assisting with examination and treatment of patients and performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of physician. Gives injections, administers basic treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests. Keeps billing records, enters financial transactions into bookkeeping ledgers, and computes and mail monthly statements to patients. MA Principal Accountabilities: 1. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients 2. Keys data into the computer system to maintain office and patient records. 3. Takes vital signs, such as pulse rate, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. 4. Manages the medical inventory and orders medical supplies and materials. 5. Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests 6. Schedules appointments, confirms appointments, collects money for bills, performs secretarial tasks, and verifies insurance for patients. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: 1. Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program 2 years of experience in Physicians practice, as a Medical Assistant or relevant area.
