Medical Assistant, Primary Care at Kennett
Job Details

ChristianaCare's Medical Group is looking to hire a Full time Medical Assistant to support the Primary Care at Kennett Square.

The Senior Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering and maintaining quality patient care, operate as a team leader and mentor of office staff in the practice to facilitate functions and will assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments as well as will also manage the practice's VFC program.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday: 8 hour shifts between 7a- 5pm

Fridays: 8 hour shift between 7a - 4:30p

Responsibilities:

Rooms patients for virtual and on-site within the practice to include taking and recording patient Vitals.

Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.

Assist clinician with examinations/procedures.

Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.

Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs.

Handles prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills based on practice needs.

Ensures EMR is up to date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit

Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider

As per state guidelines, performs sterilization of medical equipment per practice needs.

Qualifications:

High School Graduate or Equivalent

A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or

Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
