Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in patient care, supporting healthcare providers in examinations and treatments, administering vaccines, and conducting various medical procedures. You will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as scheduling, managing electronic health records, and handling patient inquiries. Clinical assistance involves preparing instruments, assisting in procedures, and conducting laboratory tests. The role also requires adherence to quality assurance, compliance with regulations, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have completed a Medical Assistant program, possess relevant certification, proficiency in medical terminology, strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and familiarity with electronic health records. Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required.Proficiency in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and basic pharmacology.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing software preferred.CPR certification may be required.Willingness to adapt to changing healthcare policies, procedures, and technologies.

 

Responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for physician consultations.Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints accurately.Perform basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, and specific injections under supervision.Administers vaccines as requested by the provider. Performs pulmonary function tests, electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and nebulizer treatments as instructed by the provider. Administrative Support:Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, and coordinate referrals as needed.Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations.Handle patient inquiries, telephone calls, and messages promptly and courteously.Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and process billing and coding accurately. Clinical Assistance:Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment for procedures.Assist in minor surgical procedures and examinations, ensuring a sterile environment.Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, blood glucose, and rapid strep tests.Conduct inventory management and ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and medications. Quality Assurance and Compliance:Adhere to established clinical protocols, infection control measures, and safety standards.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.Stay updated with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices through continuing education.
