Required Qualifications:

-Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - Certification - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or

-EMT Basic-Certifications-National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or

-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)- Certification National Healthcare Association (NHA) or

-EMT Advanced-Certification -National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or

-Paramedic

As a Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will work directly with a doctor conducting phlebotomy (lab), clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor. Monitors, tests, and records transmission results from trans telephonic, cardio voice, and rhythm strips for cardiac device patients under the supervision of an electrophysiology provider. Conducts device education to broad based population. Troubleshoots abnormal test results and elevates to the appropriate provider/physician. Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant required. Certified Rhythm Analyses Technician (CRAT) required or within 1 year of hire. 3 years Cardiology experience preferred, 1 year Electrophysiology preferred, 3 years experience as an EMT, Paramedic, CVT graduate, and/or Corpsman preferred.
