One of Ventura County's leading healthcare organizations is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team. Opportunity to make an impact in the community and expand your skillset within the healthcare industry!

Requirements: Must be available to work at one of the following locations: Oxnard, Santa Paula, Ventura, Ojai, or Camarillo. May be required to float if needed. Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred Ability to work the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, one weekend / month Medical assistant diploma and BLS card What's In It For You?This facility is a large healthcare organization that offers great benefits and room for growth.Open to taking entry level candidates who are looking to gain experience as a medical assistant. ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Tasks: These include checking insurance coverage of patients, scheduling and maintaining appointment calendars, ordering and processing medical records, and notifying referring physicians of any changes or lapses in patient records or insurance coverage.Clinical Duties: Back Office Medical Assistants conduct basic clinical duties under the direction of a physician. This includes bringing patients back to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs, and asking patients about their symptoms, concerns, and medical history.Communication: They are responsible for answering phone calls from patients, making reminder calls, and handling emergency calls via a paging system.Patient Interaction: Gathering patient information such as chronic conditions and other health-related details to be sent to insurance companies or managed care organizations.Support the back-office operations of a medical facility by checking insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling patient interactions. They also assist with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and recording patient information.Open and close the clinic as required.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is required.Medical Assisting Diploma and active BLS certification.Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Minimum of 6 months of experience is preferred.Work Environment
