**Medical Assistant** **Job Details** **Job Location** Long Island City Residential - Long Island City, NY **Position Type** Full Time **Education Level** High School or GED Equivalent **Salary Range** $20.48 - $24.00 Hourly **Travel Percentage** None **Job Shift** Morning **Job Category** Health Care **Description** **SUMMARY** Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor and/or Program Director, provides operational support to facilitate the delivery of clinical services to patients. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.** + Supervises the (self) administration of medication to patients. + Transcribes medication orders and monitors medication records for compliance. + Perform accurate and complete audits of medication transported, received, administered, stored, or disposed, as trained, and assigned. + Maintain patient confidentiality and conduct in accordance with Phoenix House medication policies and procedures. + Enter data into computer EMR software. + Answering telephones + Update and file patient medical records + Scheduled appointments + Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services + Correspond with external agencies, pertaining to client(s) as needed. + Perform other duties as assigned. **COMPETENCIES (KSA’s)** + Ethical Practices + Judgment + Relationship Management + Time Management + Empathy + Professional Boundaries + Global and Cultural Awareness + Critical Evaluation + Problem Solving + Decision Making + Communication + Teamwork + Crisis Management + Technical Capacity **Qualifications** **REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS** + High School Diploma/GED + Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE** + 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting **WORK ENVIRONMENT** + This job operates in an indoor office environment.
