We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support both administrative and clinical functions to ensure efficient patient care and flow. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, patient interaction, and clinical support.
Essential Skills1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.Medical Assistant Diploma.Proficiency in taking vital signs.Reliable and punctual.Experience with patient care and phlebotomy.Strong customer service skills.Basic data entry and data retrieval skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsEpic experience is a plus.10+ years of working experience is ideal, not necessarily in the medical field.Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control.Understanding of risk management and environment of care policies.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Work Environment
The position is based in the West Babylon office.
ScheduleThe work schedule is Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays as needed.
Shift times vary from 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, and 10am-6pm.
Should expect to work the late shift 1-2 times a week and stay until the last patient leaves.
ResponsibilitiesSupports the patient check-in and check-out processes.Schedules and coordinates all patient appointments.Answers and directs calls.Processes pre-authorizations and pre-certifications.Prepares and files medical records.Provides cross coverage for other administrative roles.Maintains clinical files according to organization/department protocol.Processes patient-related correspondence.Maintains confidentiality of patient information.Ensures efficient patient flow.Prepares treatment rooms and equipment for patient examinations.Provides appropriate procedural support following department-specific guidelines.Performs initial intake of patients, including interviews, vital signs, and allergy information.Accurately records and updates relevant patient information.Performs daily Quality Controls (QC) for all Point of Care (POC) testing.Obtains specimens and accurately performs and records patient POC testing per policy.Under provider and/or RN direction, tracks and retrieves patient lab/diagnostic testing results.Performs the administrative functions of the patient prescription renewal process under provider and/or RN direction.Provides cross coverage for other appropriate clinical roles.Supports departmental medical record audits as needed.Cleans and stocks patient care rooms between patients.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00
