POSITION TITLE: Medical Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Nursing
NATURE OF POSITION: The Medical Assistant is a member of the interdisciplinary medical team of Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center. The position assists medical providers in the examination and treatment of patients and functions as a liaison between the medical staff, health information, lab, and administrative departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Previous clinical experience preferred
+ Strong written and communication skills
+ Strong working knowledge in computer systems; such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
+ Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and/or lift for extended periods of time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Performs routine intake procedures including, but not limited to, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and blood pressure readings
+ Assists medical providers with examination and treatment of patients
+ Provides assistance with administrative procedures required, including patient referral, charting and documentation of activities and phone calls
+ Demonstrates teamwork and commitment to quality patient care
+ Attends clinic mandated and departmental in-services and trainings
+ Performs other duties as assigned
