Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, responsible for rooming 12-15+ patients a day. You will be tied to one specific physician who sees an average of 15+ patients daily. Our medical assistants work in teams to ensure coverage if one team member is out. Your duties will include refilling patient prescriptions, completing doctors' orders, prior authorizations, charting in electronic medical records (Epic), taking vitals (with a focus on accurate manual blood pressure readings), and communicating test results to patients.
ResponsibilitiesRoom 12-15+ patients daily.Work closely with a specific physician seeing 15+ patients daily.Refill patient prescriptions and complete doctors' orders.Handle prior authorizations and chart in electronic medical records (Epic).Take accurate manual blood pressure readings and other vitals.Call patients to provide testing results, which will occupy 40-50% of your day.Essential SkillsNational Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, NCMA, AAMA, NCCT, etc.).6+ months of MA experience (externship experience acceptable).Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic preferred).Excellent customer service and patient care skills.Proven reliability and good attendance.Additional Skills & QualificationsPhlebotomy skills.Experience in dialysis or nephrology.Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Ability to float between Salem and Keizer clinic locations occasionally.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Initially, you will work 5x8s during training, transitioning to a 4x10 schedule once up to speed. You may need to float between two locations: Salem Care (inside Salem Hospital, primary location) and Keizer Care. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
