Job Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will coordinate patient care and flow, ensuring an efficient and compassionate experience for all patients. You will be responsible for escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining brief histories and vital signs, and entering data into the electronic health record system (EHR). You will assist clinicians with procedures and perform patient-specific tasks as needed. Additionally, you will complete consent forms, provide patient education, and manage referral materials during clinic sessions.

ResponsibilitiesEscort patients to exam rooms and obtain brief histories and vital signs.Enter patient data into the electronic health record system (EHR) and update records for clinician review.Assist clinicians with preparing patients for exams and procedures.Perform requested patient-specific tasks after the patient has been seen.Complete all appropriate consent forms and provide patient education and referral materials.Clean and stock exam rooms before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of each clinic session.Answer incoming calls and assist with appointment scheduling when performing front desk duties.Review the upcoming week's schedule to ensure necessary supplies are in stock for procedures.Ensure e-prescribing tasks and all assigned tasks in EHR are completed accurately and timely.Review EHR tasks at the end of visits, assisting clinicians with any pending tasks.Maintain accurate EHR records following clinic policies and procedures.Assist in the laboratory as necessary.Complete tasks in the case management system daily.Enroll patients in the Patient Assistance Program.Essential SkillsMedical assisting experienceProficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systemsAbility to take and record vital signsStrong customer service skillsMedical Assistant certificationCPR certificationHigh school diploma or GEDAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with appointment schedulingFamiliarity with e-prescribing tasksKnowledge of pediatric careAbility to assist in laboratory tasksExperience working with low-income patientsOpen to entry-level candidatesWork Environment

This position is based onsite at a fast-paced clinic where you will see anywhere between 20 to 40 patients daily, depending on the site. A team environment is essential, as is the ability to work well with Spanish-speaking patients. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
