Henry Ford health Medical Assistant Apprenticeship is a 10-month program where you are Henry Ford Health employee and will be working at a Henry Ford ambulatory clinic 16 hours a week. While gaining on the job training experience you will also be attending school full-time to obtain your Medical Assistant Certificate. Henry Ford Health will pay for your tuition and fees for a return of TWO YEARs employment. You must maintain great attendance, grades and pass your CMA exam. What are the requirements? + 18 years or older + High School Diploma + Criminal Background Check + Pass pre-employment health screenings. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the mentor, performs a variety of duties to assist in providing quality and compassionate care to patients. These duties include: + The greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room and the measurement and recording of height and weight. + Demonstrate competency with computerized charting systems such as EPIC. + Attend and complete an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program and demonstrate outstanding attendance while at both at work and college. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: + High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. + Enrolled in an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant Program. + Agree to obtain Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate through HFMG education department.
