Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our back office team. You will utilize Medent as our EMR system to maintain patient records, log medications, and update requests for various medical procedures. Your role will involve patient interaction, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, managing patient billing, and supporting smooth office operations. ResponsibilitiesUtilize Medent EMR system for maintaining patient records.Log medications and reconcile with pharmacies.Update computer systems for MRI, CAT scan, and other requests.Complete return to gym and sports notes.Enter scripts into EMR and call facilities for STAT requests.Welcome patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.Prepare patient charts ahead of scheduled appointments.Confirm and print out necessary forms for patient visits.Handle calls for scheduling and rescheduling appointments.Support fax machine operations between offices.Schedule appointments face-to-face when patients leave previous appointments.Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.Maintain and update patient records accurately and confidentially.Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.Work with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.Essential SkillsExperience with EMR systems, specifically Medent.Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.Knowledge of insurance coverages and processes.Ability to support front office functions along with clinical duties.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification as a Medical Assistant preferred but not required.Willingness to accept candidates with outdated or expired certifications.Strong communication and organizational skills.Work Environment
This role operates Monday through Friday with shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. One evening shift per week from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM is expected, scheduled in advance. You will cover all sites, including Randolph, Sparta, Hackettstown, Morristown, and Cedar Knolls, with a routine schedule established. You are expected to work 40 hours per week and stay until the last patient leaves. You will interact with 20-40 patients daily, depending on the provider. Our work environment is supportive, with a large network of six offices within New Jersey, offering a small group feel. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
