Job Description Summary:
Assist with basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications per a physician's orders, or gathering medical history. Assist the IMC coordinator by scheduling appointments and processing paperwork. The medical assistant will contribute with the delivery of quality patient care.Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the pending referrals that require additional information for insurance approval, clinical approval or scheduling.Obtains additional clinical documentation needed to process referrals if EHR access is available to Intramed Plus. Communicates with the referral source for any additional clinical documentation to process referrals.Ensures that referral tracking board is updated regarding scheduling activities. Works closely with the clinical team and IMC coordinator in scheduling all new patients at each of the infusion center locations. Duties include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygenation via pulse oximetry. Reports abnormal values to the Registered Nurse.Assist with patient needs. Duties include, but are not limited to, assistance with ambulation, patient nourishments, and patient comfort.Assists with answering call lights.Clean rooms, chairs and equipment between patients.Checks cleanliness of restroom periodically with patient’s use.Routinely checks and restocks nursing carts, patient rooms, and nursing station, as needed.Routinely checks the break room for supply / inventory needs.Routinely checks the store room for proper supplies and maintains it in organized mannerTracks receipt of all new patient documents.Ensures that transitioning patients from AIS to IMC have the appropriate documents completed.Closes AIS charts when appropriate.Assists in identifying service related itemsParticipates on performance improvement teams as assigned/requiredParticipates in the on-going policy development. Provides feedback on new workflows, products, etc. to the appropriate Intramed Plus team membersDocuments any errors, issues, complaints based on the established procedures including Incident Reports, etc.Performs other related duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. Completion of Certified Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course or nursing fundamentals from accredited organization required. Previous CMA or related experience preferred. One (1) year experience preferred.Certification required:BLSDue to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:
Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
