Medical Assistant III- Care Navigation

Job Summary: Responsible for identifying and engaging patients in the lung cancer screening, incidental nodule findings processes, and other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Facilitates imaging and post-imaging follow-up using standard work and protocols within CaroMont Medical Group, and care navigation. Will engage care navigation/oncology navigation staff when appropriate for patient support and education. Utilizes EMR technology and reports to identify the patients. Works autonomously to assist coordination of care activities for assigned patient groups. Independently performs assigned tasks and works with care navigation, imaging, pulmonary and oncology staff to guide patients through the continuum of care. Qualifications: Associates of Science Degree in Medical Assisting and more than 3 years of recent experience as a certified MA, or a high school degree or equivalent and more than 5 years of recent experience as a certified MA. BLS required. Current credentialing (certification/registration). Must have and maintain current credentialing with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT-NCMA), National Health Career Association (NHA-CCMA), National Healthcare Workers Association (NHCWA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA).
