Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine - Hillcrest

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. The occasional Saturday shift (about once per quarter) from 8am-2pm is required. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Hillcrest.

Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanDetail orientedExperience administering vaccines

Required Certification/Registration:

BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

MA in an outpatient setting, preferably Internal Medicine

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
