The responsibilities of the Medical Assistant are primarily administrative and clinical.

Duties include, but are not limited to, welcoming patients, managing telephones, managing patient medical records, completing insurance documents, managing correspondence, scheduling, documenting vital signs, educating patients on treatment procedures and prepping patients for exams.
