**Job Overview** The Medical Assistant Learner performs medical assistant tasks and responsibilities while studying toward a Medical Assistant Diploma, within limits of current training. Work is guided and overseen by a Lead Medical Assistant and Clinic Manager. May assist Physician and Advanced Practice Professional with procedures and treatments as trained and directed. This position may perform some administrative duties including patient check in and out, scheduling referrals and follow-ups, filling out forms, mailing correspondence, obtaining signatures, and directing phone calls. The Medical Assitant Learner is responsible for adhering to all safety standards, policies, procedures, and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient while continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. Upon successful completion of the MA program, the goal is to transfer into a Medical Assistant position with the organization. **Required Qualifications** + High School diploma or equivalent + Upon job offer, must be eligible for admission/enrollment in the Medical Assistant Diploma Program at Rasmussen University; the partner education institution selected by Fairview.
