Medical Assistant/ MA
**Overview** Provides professional, quality medical care to patients. Partners with clinic staff and clinicians to perform daily patient visits, including rooming patients, assisting clinicians with procedures, administering medications, and accurately documenting in the clinic electronic health record. Performs job responsibilities following established clinic protocols and procedures. This position is eligible for a $2000 Sign On Bonus!! Travel to other sites (Edina, Maplewood, etc) will be required as needed. **Responsibilities Job Description** The Medical Assistant/MA supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team supporting the needs of the healthcare team and patients/support network. The MA will collect information and documents to support the patient visit. MA's are responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting cohesion with all members of team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. + Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned population, or individual patient. Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences. Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served. Individualizes plan of care to meet patients needs. + Prioritizes work based on patients acuity, available resources, patients preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the authorized practitioner and other team members. + Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws. + Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient. Responds appropriately to emergent situations. Ensures a safe, secure environment. + Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner. Uses communication approaches appropriate to patients needs + Respect and ensures the confidentiality of all information regarding patients, staff members or Fairview business issues. Shares information only with those who need to know. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications** + Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN is required. + Basic Life Support Certification is required. **Preferred Qualifications** + Ambulatory Care Experience is preferred. + AAMA Certification is preferred. **Other Skills We Desire at Fairview:** High standard of creative prioritization skills and priority setting.
