_Fast-paced, high volume Renal Transplant Specialty Clinic is looking for a top skilled Medical Assistant to support our team. Is that you?_
**Work location:** Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
**Work hours:** Part Time 24 hrs/week. Opportunity to work 8 or 12 hour shift with start time of 6:30a
Monday and Thursday - 6:30AM-6:30 PM if working 12 hour shift, if working 8 hour shift will need to work 6:30 AM -2:30PM and then remaining hours on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday
**Here’s What You Need**
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· One (1) year in a medical office required
· MA - Medical Assistant certified or registered upon hire required
· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
· Billing and data entry experience preferred
· Advanced Phlebotomy skills with experience in drawing Phlebotomy Labs on hard stick patients strongly preferred. (will draw labs on 10-15 patients a day)
**Skills**
Positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast paced environment. Phlebotomy skills, lab test experience, familiar with medical terminology and computerized charting system.
**What You Will Do**
+ Assists with flow of patients from waiting area to exam room, including height, weight, and vital signs
+ Perform preparatory work on patients to ensure efficient use of the provider’s time
+ Phlebotomy, give injections and blood draws on hard stick patients due to renal disease
+ Prepares specimens and order lab work, interfaces with laboratory ensuring that all labs are reported in timely fashion
+ Obtain brief history from patients and update medical records with epic ambulatory charting
+ Customer service, answering phones/responding to messages and appointment scheduling.
+ Complete prescription refill request
+ Obtaining insurance authorizations and submitting referrals
+ Discussing financial obligations with patients
+ Stocks and cleans exam rooms daily
+ Facilitates disposal of biohazard materials
