We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at Henry Ford Health. As a Medical Assistant in our Mobile Occupational Health department, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to employees at various worksites. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and treating patients in a variety of situations.
This Role is not Clinical Based! You will be travelling to different corporate Clients to perform Health Screen, Hearing Testing and more
- Dependable car: You’ll occasionally need to drive your own vehicle when the company minivan isn’t available.
- Willingness to Travel: Within Metro Detroit and occasionally across Michigan - some over night stays also required
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting physicians with pre-employment exams. Administering vaccinations and immunizations Perform drug screenings and other clinical procedures as needed Drawing blood and collecting other specimens for laboratory analysis Conduct hearing tests, respiratory fit testing, tb testing, etc. Training will be provided.Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years Current BLS-C Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs measurement Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Additional Information Organization: Community Care Services Department: Mobile Occupational Health Shift: Day Job Union Code: Not Applicable
