UF Health Leesburg Hospital also offers advanced orthopedic surgery, stroke care, emergency services as well as labor and delivery care. The hospital is part of UF Health Central Florida, a not-for-profit health care system and the largest most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. UF Health Central Florida provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital – The Villages and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations. Responsibilities NOTE: This is a Sourcing Requsition for multiple practice locations in Lake County: Tavares, Leesburg, The Villages, Summerfield etc. The Medical Assistant works under the direction of the physician and in cooperation with the other office staff in assisting with safe and effective patient care in compliance with established standards and protocols of the practice and UF Health Central Florida goals and objectives Qualifications Education: - High School Diploma/GED Licensure/Certification/Registration: - Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant Preferred. - Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first month of employment. Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English - Prefer experience working with practice management systems - Must have 1 year experience working in physician office - Prefer experience with medical terminology
